MMG Brings Safety Training to Life for Amazon
Customer Challenge
Construction sites are dangerous, and Amazon’s are no different. The Learning Operations Program Manager for Amazon GESS needed to visually communicate on-site energy-based hazards and explain the required protocol to ensure everyone on site was taking the safest precautions.
Animating Safety
We met with Prime Air’s Learning Operations Program Manager and Head of Construction Safety. They leveraged their expertise to illustrate each job site and the potential energy hazards workers would encounter so our design team could recreate them with animations.
Constructing Caution
Our content team leveraged the illustrations and content provided by Amazon to create scripts for eight videos. These scripts detailed several energy hazards found on a construction site and the safety precautions that should be taken if they occur.
Visualizing Awareness
Our design and video team brought the scripts to life with animations and on-screen text. We carefully detailed what these potentially dangerous situations would look like in the context of the construction teams’ work and the safe and unsafe choices they’d be faced with.
The Impact
By showing these safety videos, Amazon limited its on-site injuries and properly instructed its workers on the safety precautions necessary so everyone could get home safely at night.
Because of the success, we also created metal coins and stickers featuring the Energy Wheel. On-site managers now use these to reward workers for following safety protocols, and who doesn’t like a reward?!
